There is an app on the iOS side that does what this article describes. It’s called Comicblendr and I’ll admit I got it without thinking (and it’s free for some reason). After getting over being naive and assuming web comics would be OK with this app, I deleted it. The Facebook page and website for the developer, Suncoast Computing, appear to be broken/non-existant.
I have a very decent RSS feeder on my phone (MobileRSS). Sure, the experience is inconsistent as some comics are embedded in the feed and some I have to tap through to the site, but at least the taps and clicks register with the actual comic creators and not an image scraper. Check this article out.
